Gaines Jr. Livestock Horse Show Slated for Aug. 19

The 2018 Gaines County Horse Show will be held this coming August 19, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Seminole Rodeo Arena, according to a press release issued by the Gaines County AgriLife Extension Office.  

Each exhibitor may show up to four (4) horses and horses must have been validated with local show officials. Additionally, no stallion horses over one (1) year of age will be permitted to show.  

Each exhibitor that is eligible to be a member of the Gaines County 4-H, Loop FFA, Seagraves FFA, or Seminole FFA, must be a member of one of these clubs (3rd through 12th grade for the 2017-2018 school year).  

If the exhibitor is in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, they can show under the guidance of one of these clubs, but they must reside and attend a Gaines County school or be enrolled in an accredited educational curriculum and their entries must be turned in to and approved by the Gaines County Livestock Show Association.  

Any exhibitor who has completed the 12th grade or equivalent as of January 1, 2018 is ineligible to show in the 2018 show.  There will be an Honorary Class.  If an exhibitor is eligible to show in the regular show, they are ineligible to show in the Honorary Show.

Entry forms are available at the Gaines County Extension Office and are due to the Extension Office by 5 p.m. August 12.
