Jack Lavender 69, of Seminole passed away on April 18, 2024, in Amarillo.

Jackie Ben Lavender was born on August 31, 1954, in Memphis to Bill and Vern Lavender. Jack was raised in Tulia with his family, and this is where he found the love of this life, Gay Lavender. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1972 and attended college in San Marcus. Jack married his wife Gay on December 23, 1977, in Tulia. They moved to Seminole in 1977 where they raised their family.

After moving to Seminole, he went to work for Carl’s Automotive. In 1980 Jack started Lavender’s Car Clinic in Seminole where he served the community and friends for 36 years. No one was a stranger to Jack, and he loved getting to know all his customers. He was a long time member of the Seminole Lions Club. Everyone in Seminole could recite the “famous” car commercials with his loving boys. “Come see my dad, at Lavender’s Car Clinic, 510 North Main or Call, 758-2872…” Jack was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved riding his motorcycle, going to the lake with his wife Gay, family, and friends. Jack enjoyed fishing and working with his sons. He was a doting grandfather who cherished his grandchildren with all his heart.

He is survived by his wife Gay of Seminole, son James and wife Amber Lavender of Lindsay, son Brian and wife Hillary Lavender of Seminole, and his five grandchildren Bradley, Brantley, Henley, Rylee, and Brooks. His brother John and wife Rosa, and brother Jim and wife Kathy, and their families.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Vern Lavender, his brother Joe Lavender, his in-laws Pat and Calvin Galyen, and brother-in-law Mike Galyen.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Seminole on April 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Seminole.

Jack Lavender will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
