Douglas Hamilton, 56

Memorial services for Douglas Dean Hamilton age 56, will be held Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Seminole, with Pastor Tommy Taylor, officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Doug Hamilton was born in Seagraves on January 22, 1962 to Jim and Jerry Xan Hudson Hamilton. He attended Tarleton State University, where he enjoyed rodeoing and the company of new friends. Doug was the epitome of a man who never met a stranger and would give the boots off his feet to anyone in need. He was a person anyone could talk to and knew just how to help them.  

Doug adored his granddaughters and was passionate about helping others through their struggles. He was outspoken but had a great sense of humor. His entertaining personality would light up any room. He spent the majority of his life giving back to people in need. He was a cowboy through and through, with a deep love for God, animals, nature and life.

Doug passed away May 17, 2018 at his residence in Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leroy and Mozelle Hamilton and Joe and Ruth Hudson all of Seagraves.

He is survived by his parents Jim and Jerry Xan Hamilton of Odessa, formally of Seagraves; two sons Matt Hamilton of San Angelo, Ryan Hamilton and wife Morgan of Andover; sister Holly Kidd and husband Ricky of Andrews; niece Regan Weaver and husband Paul of Odessa; great-nieces Taylor and Kinley Weaver of Odessa; granddaughters Hudson and Landree Hamilton of Andover, Kansas; numerous  aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lubbock Faith Center, 2809 Clovis Road, Lubbock Texas 79415 or to a charity of your choice.
