Adult Education Learning Center Registration

The Adult Education Learning Center will hold registration for the 2022/2023 school year on Monday, Aug. 8 from 1-4 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. until noon at the center located at 700 SW Ave C. Registration is for ESL, Literacy, Adult Basic Ed, GED, and Basic Computer skills classes. There is no charge for these classes, either morning or evening, and they are available for adults 18 and older. Adult Learning Center Director Jeannette Lambert asks that each enrollee brings two forms of ID; one needs to have a photo. She added that early registration is encouraged as these classes fill up quickly.

SPC to host pinning on Aug. 11

LEVELLAND – South Plains College Vocational Nursing Program will recognize its graduates during a pinning ceremony set for 1 p.m. on Aug.

EMS Summer Camp Returns

Seminole EMS First Responders will host their annual summer camps on July 25-26 and Aug. 1-2. Youngsters ages 8-11 are invited to attend the first session; the second session is reserved for those students ages 12-18. Camps will be from 8 a.m. until noon.

City to consider food truck regulations, introduce new police officers Plans to consider drafting an ordinance addressing food truck regulations are on the administrative report agenda for Monday’s City Council meeting. The meeting on June 27, which begins at 7 p.m., will start with the prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.
