Denver City -- Funeral services for Charlsie Lou Roach, 82, of Denver City were conducted on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. in the Denver City Church of Christ with Brother Skip Rodgers officiating with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. She passed away on July 1, 2014, in Lubbock.
Charlsie was born on June 6, 1932 in Happy to Charlie and Minnie Lou Gaston. She was reared by Mrs. Ida Bruton after her mother’s passing. Charlsie married Jarvis Allen Roach on August 14, 1950, in Brownfield. They moved to Gaines County in 1974. Charlsie worked for Hearne and Son Furniture for many years and then Gaines County for 10 years, as director of Higginbotham Community Center. Charlsie was a member of Denver City Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Charlsie is survived by her husband, Jarvis Roach of Gaines County; her son, Carlton Roach of Richardson; her two daughters, Rhonda Swadley and her husband Jim, and Kristy Kostelich and her husband Wayne all of Denver City; eight grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.
