Funeral services for G.R. Wall, age 87 of Seminole, were held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at West Side Church of Christ at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Leo Copeland officiating. Burial followed in Gaines County Cemetery. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
G.R. Wall was born in Big Spring to Cora (Day) and Grover Ray Wall on April 29, 1927. He married Paula Austin in Lamesa on August 13, 1949. G.R. served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal. He worked as a farmer and was a member of the Church of Christ. He had lived in Seminole since 1951, having moved from Lamesa.
G.R. had a great sense of humor and loved sports. He and his wife Paula were voted Sports Fans of the Year by the Seminole Booster Club. He drove a school bus for the Seminole Independent School District for 20 years. G.R. was a man of great integrity and loved his family dearly.
G.R. Wall passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2014 at Seminole Medical Healthcare Center in Seminole. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Paula in 2008; one brother; two sisters; and one great-granddaughter Kennedy Cross.
He is survived by two sons Dennis Wall and wife Cindy of Lubbock, Craig Wall and wife Sandi of San Antonio; five grandchildren Michelle Cross and husband Wade, Monica Matzner and husband Matt, Laura Wall, Aaron Wall and Daniel Wall; five great-grandchildren Colby Matzner, Blake Matzner, Conner Cross, Emersyn Cross, and Finley Cross.
