The Seminole FFA Wool Evaluation Team recently competed and won 6th place in the FFA State Career Development Events Contest on the campus of Texas Tech University. FFA Career Development Events build on what is learned in agricultural classes and encourage members to put their knowledge into practice. These events are designed to help a member prepare for a career in agriculture by testing and challenging the student’s technical, leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as their knowledge of the subject matter.

FFA competitions are not divided by school sizes. All sizes of schools compete against one another from the district, area, state and national levels. The schools are divided only by geographic location. Schools must qualify at each level to advance to the next level. This year at the Wool Evaluation State Contest thirty teams qualified to compete at Texas Tech University.

Seminole FFA Horse Team competed at the FFA State Contest at Texas Tech University. Team members are Addison Parum, Bricia Lira, Dennis Knelsen, and Makaya Price. The Seminole Livestock Team also qualified to compete at the FFA State Contest at Texas A&M University. Team members are Cheyanne Millican, Jarrott Foote, Ryder Mata and Taylor Perryman.
