Cotton: 2 Gaines Gins Remain in Operation; Bale Count Passes 439K

All but two Gaines County gins have ceased operations for the 2015 harvest season, according to a Thursday bale count polling conducted by the Seminole Sentinel.

As of 10 a.m. Thursday morning, Gaines County’s eight local gins had processed 439,658 bales of cotton for the 2015 harvest. Thursday’s tally is up from 405,819 processed bales recorded by the Sentinel on January 25.…

TSWA: Seagraves’ Kyle Named to First Team All State Football Honors

PEARLAND — In his high school career, Seagraves’ Cory Kyle racked up the yardage.

If you converted his 9,561 yards rushed in three years as a starter for the Class 2A, Div. II Eagles, he would have weaved and plowed his way through opposing defenses a shade over five miles.

For the third straight season, Kyle added another honor to his prep career, as he was named to his third straight Class 2A First Team All-State Honor, as bestowed by members of the Texas Sports Writers Association.…

PECOS — Another postseason berth was added to the history books of the Seminole Indian basketball program Tuesday evening, as SHS cruised past the Pecos Eagles in a 63-32 District 4-4A victory at Pecos High School.

Seminole Fuel Prices Drop 10-Cents Over 1 Week Period

COPPELL — The price of low-grade, unleaded fuel fell another five cents — on average — across the state of Texas and dropped 10-cents locally within the past week, according to the latest report from AAA Texas.In their weekly report, AAA Texas reported the statewide gas price average in the Lone Star State  is now $1.53 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel.…
